Meet Our DIRECTOR:

Mrs. Jacquie Cabrera

We are excited to introduce Mrs. Cabrera, the Theater Program Director for Southern Star Fine Arts. Additionally, Mrs. Cabrera is the Theatre Program Coordinator and Director at Nelson University Theatre. Professor Cabrera received her Master of Arts in Theatre from the University of Houston and her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Education from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. As of Summer 2024, she is entering her tenth year in theatre education, and she has directed over 24 productions at the middle school, high school, and college levels. She is a certified UIL One Act Play judge and has directed award-winning plays in UIL One Act Play. Her UIL team made it to state for One Act Play in 2019, Regionals in 2021, and Regional Alternate in 2022 and 2023. She developed and designed the scope, sequence, and theatre curriculum for the district she worked at on the public school level. She currently serves as a mentor to theatre directors in the area.
